Scholarship Overview

The Danish Government Scholarship is funded by the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science and offered through selected Danish universities. For the 2026 intake, the scholarship is available at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and focuses on providing full tuition fee waivers to outstanding international students.

This award recognizes academic excellence and supports students who contribute to Denmark’s diverse and international learning environment.

Master’s Programs

  • MSc in Engineering – Electronics / Electrical Engineering (Sønderborg)
  • MSc in Engineering – Mechanical Engineering (Sønderborg)
  • MSc in Engineering – Mechatronics (Sønderborg)

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Danish Government Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Apply for and receive admission to an eligible master’s program at SDU
  • Be a non-EU/EEA student subject to tuition fees
  • Meet all academic entry requirements of the chosen program
  • Demonstrate English language proficiency, such as:
    • IELTS score of 6.5 or above, or
    • TOEFL score of 575 (paper) / 230 (computer) / 88 (internet-based), or
    • Equivalent English qualification accepted by SDU

Exchange or guest students must have completed the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits at the university level.

Required Documents

Applicants must upload the following documents through the online application portal:

  • Academic transcripts and degree certificates
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Completed Language Requirement Form

  • Any additional documents requested by the university

Documents sent via email or postal mail will not be accepted.

There is no separate scholarship application. Follow these steps carefully:
