The ECU Travel Bursary is a financial aid initiative aimed at students who:

  • Originally intended to study in the United States
  • Were impacted by U.S. student visa processing delays
  • Are now enrolling in a full on-campus ECU degree program in Australia

This bursary helps ease the cost of travel and relocation for your studies in Australia.

Degree Level

The ECU Travel Scholarship 2026 is open for students undertaking:

  • Bachelor’s degrees

  • Master’s (Coursework and Research)

  • PhD programs

Available Subjects

All academic fields offered at ECU are eligible under this scholarship, including but not limited to:

  • Arts & Humanities

  • Science & Technology

  • Engineering

  • Education

  • Business & Law

  • Health & Medical Sciences

  • Creative Industries

Scholarship Benefits

  • Value: AUD $2,000
  • Purpose: Supports travel and relocation expenses
  • Disbursement: Paid after the census date of your first semester
  • Mode of Payment: Transferred to a nominated Australian bank account

Eligible Nationalities

This opportunity is open to international students of all nationalities.
(Not available to Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.)

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the ECU Travel Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

  • Be an international student holding a valid Subclass 500 Student Visa
  • Be commencing their first full-time degree at ECU in Semester 2, 2025 or Semester 1, 2026
  • Study on-campus at ECU (Joondalup, Mount Lawley, or ECU City)
  • Not be receiving any other ECU scholarships, government, or industry sponsorships
  • Provide one of the following as proof of intent to study in the U.S.:
    • A submitted application to a U.S. institution, or

    • An offer letter from a U.S. university

Application Procedure

There is no separate application required for the travel bursary.

Follow these steps:

  1. Apply for admission to a full ECU degree program
  2. Submit documentation showing your previous U.S. study intentions
  3. Enroll and pay tuition by the official deadline
  4. Remain enrolled full-time past the census date of your first semester

Note: ECU makes all award decisions at its sole discretion.

  • Applications Open: 29 May 2025
  • Applications Close: 14 March 2026
  • Eligible Semesters:
    • Semester 2, 2025

    • Semester 1, 2026

Terms and Conditions

  • Must maintain full-time enrollment (minimum 60 credit points per semester)
  • Must stay enrolled after the census date of the first semester
  • AUD $2,000 will be deposited into a nominated Australian bank account
  • Students who withdraw or become ineligible may have to repay the bursary
  • The bursary cannot be transferred to other institutions, campuses, or courses
  • No double funding: Not available to students receiving other ECU financial awards
